Unleash Your Creativity: 8 Tips For Creative Problem Solving

Have you wondered if there is a better way of solving problems? Why do we always have to stress out? Is it a prerequisite to overthink every problem before we solve it? For a long time, I used to think that to solve anything, there has to be a more fun and innovative way.

My quest to find the answer started right then and there. I explored articles, went through blogs, watched videos, and realized that it wasn’t as easy as I thought. How ironic it was when I started overthinking the answer.

However, all my research, being a creative problem solver led me to this point. Proudly, I can say I don’t jump to conclusions, overthink, and remain unbothered. I wasn’t a walk in the park. But it was all worth it.

With that, I’ve gathered a few tips to become a great problem solver. So, are you ready to become a go-to person in difficult situations? Here we go:

  • Don’t Panic

The precondition of becoming a creative problem solver is to not panic in troubled times. I’ve seen many wannabee problem solvers with shivering legs whenever they face a hostile situation.

As a problem solver, panic is your number one enemy. It distracts you from the task. It generates a notion that nothing is right and paves the way to overthinking. So, take a deep breath and don’t lose your temperament.

  • Be Strategic

In simple words, use your brain. Often, people make decisions in haste. Remember, you’ll always face the music of hasty decisions. So, always be at a distance from acting swiftly in such situations. Gather as much information as possible about the matter before reacting. Connect the dots and then take the initial steps.

  • Identify Relationships

It doesn’t mean figuring out who your great-grandfather was. It implies that connection between different aspects of the conflict. Take your time to make sure you don’t forget minor details. Often, these minor aspects are the root cause of every problem. After figuring out what went wrong, it’s time to take baby steps towards a solution.

  • Ask For Help

Don’t think of yourself as a comic book character. Even Superman was helped by Lois. Stay grounded and look for ways to get help. Let me tell you this with an example. Have you ever had internet connectivity issues? What did you do? Well, I would surely call a support agent to seek help.

But the real problem is that you can’t communicate because you don’t know the common tongue. Now, how would you proceed in such a situation? If you visit teléfono de Spectrum en español (For Spanish Customers), you can get assistance in Spanish as well.

So, don’t hesitate to get help because you may not know what they bring to the table. However, you can only pray to receive help like Spectrum assists their customers. If you’re lucky, you may get aided in troubling times.

  • Be Emphatic

Sometimes, while looking for a solution, we forget that we are the problem. In many cases, we don’t realize we’re the ones that need to be fixed. Many problems will be resolved automatically only if we give attention to ourselves.

Instead of playing a blame game with someone, make sure you’re not the one creating hurdles for yourself. In addition, try walking in other’s shoes. You might be able to understand why they did what they did.

Consequently, it’ll help you understand the situation better. So, you will be able to make rational decisions, based on the situation.

  • Past Experiences:

It doesn’t matter if you approached the problems creatively in the past or not. But with every obstacle, comes a lesson.  And while you face another difficulty, try remembering how you overcame your previous worries.

Not many people try to derive a lesson from difficult situations. Be mindful of those instances because it’ll give you the experience of facing adverse situations and mentally prepare you for any outcome.

  • Sleep on the Decision You Take

The best way to know if you’re making the right decision or not is to sleep on it. In some cases, we think we made the right decision. But after some time, we came up with solutions that made our previous verdict look vague.

In addition, communicate your decision with your confidant. By doing so, you can come up with innovative ideas that you may not have thought about. Consequently, you’ll be able to refine your ruling.

  • Be Persistent Yet Patient:

To hunt for the right decision can be an arduous task. A lot of thinking is involved because many things depend on it. But, like most people, don’t back out from the process of reaching the right conclusion.

Moreover, keep your composure. Don’t overthink and overdo things. Keeping everything simple will allow you to be more focused and determined.

Winding Up:

For people who’re clueless when facing a problem, solving it would be a big ask. But for those who enjoy it, it can be one hell of an experience. However, with a few tips, you can master the art of becoming a creative problem solver.
